Careers

We build our own models, our own infrastructure, our own future.

Datawall started in a dorm room that doubled as a mini datacenter. Now we're building the bridge between the physical world and the systems enterprises already run. If you're excited about teaching AI to watch, understand, and act, we'd love to hear from you.

How we work

A research lab, not a reseller.

Three
principles
01 · First principles

Build it ourselves

We train our own models, run our own infrastructure, and own our data, fine-tuning on open foundations where it gets us there faster and building the rest ourselves. If it's core to the product, we own it.

02 · Velocity

Execution speed compounds

Faster execution leads to better outcomes, tighter feedback loops, and compounding gains. We move quickly and ship constantly.

03 · Merit

Output over pedigree

We don't care where you went to school or what's on your resume. We care if you can get stuff done. Show up, ship work, make an impact.

Open positions

We're always looking for exceptional people.

AI Research Scientist Research · Los Angeles, CA · Full-time $160K – $240K

Drive foundational research in multimodal video understanding and workflow learning. You'll work at the intersection of computer vision, sequence modeling, and reinforcement learning to build systems that don't just mimic human actions, but understand the intent behind them.

What you'll do

  • Design and train multimodal models that process screen recordings, OCR signals, and interaction traces to learn human workflows
  • Develop novel architectures for workflow understanding that capture intent, context, and decision logic
  • Build evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for workflow learning accuracy, generalization, and robustness
  • Bring research prototypes into production-grade systems with the engineering team

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • PhD or equivalent experience in ML, Computer Vision, NLP, or a related field
  • 3+ years of research experience with published work in top-tier venues (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ACL)
  • Deep expertise in multimodal learning, video understanding, or sequence modeling
  • Strong implementation skills in PyTorch and experience training large-scale models
AI Safety & Alignment Engineer Research · Palo Alto, CA · Full-time $170K – $250K

Our agents don't just answer questions, they take actions across real production systems. Define and implement the guardrails that keep our workflow agents operating reliably within defined boundaries, and give enterprise customers confidence to deploy AI at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design safety frameworks for autonomous workflow execution: boundaries, failure modes, recovery protocols
  • Build evaluation and red-teaming infrastructure to stress-test agent behavior across edge cases
  • Develop monitoring and observability tools that flag anomalous behavior before it causes harm
  • Work directly with enterprise security teams to establish trust around AI agent behavior

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • 3+ years in AI safety, alignment research, ML reliability engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of failure modes in autonomous systems (distribution shift, reward hacking, goal misspecification)
  • Experience building evaluation frameworks or monitoring systems for ML models in production
  • Strong software fundamentals in Python with PyTorch or similar

  • Run discovery calls that map operational pain points to Brend's capabilities
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder cycles across IT, operations, compliance, and leadership
  • Develop account strategies for insurance, financial services, education, and healthcare

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • 4+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience with a consistent track record against quota
  • Experience selling technical products to non-technical buyers
  • Proven ability to manage multi-month cycles with $50K+ ARR deal sizes
  • Comfort operating in an early-stage environment

What you'll do

  • Lead technical discovery on workflows, infrastructure, and security requirements
  • Deliver product demonstrations tailored to each prospect's environment
  • Build proof-of-concept deployments that show value in weeks, not months
  • Feed customer requirements back into the product roadmap with engineering

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • 3+ years in solutions engineering, technical pre-sales, or customer-facing consulting
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT: SSO, RBAC, VPNs, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Hands-on coding ability (Python, JavaScript, or similar) for demos and integrations
  • Excellent presentation skills for both engineers and executives
Chief of Staff Ops · Los Angeles, CA · Full-time $90K – $130K

  • Coordinate board prep, investor updates, quarterly planning, and team offsites
  • Act as liaison between leadership and internal teams, customers, investors, and partners
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase leadership efficiency
